Meet our January Employee of the Month: Kieran Salmon
Introducing our January Employee of the Month, Kieran Salmon! Kieran is part of our manufacturing team at Allenby Glass, our glass factory, where he operates our glass cutting machinery to make quality, made-to-measure glass panes. These are then sealed together to make into double-glazed sealed units (GSU’s) which then go into our beautiful windows and doors.
Kieran has been with us for three years now, having previously worked in the construction industry. We have caught up with him to ask about his role and what he enjoys most about it. Here is what Kieran has told us: “Handling glass requires high levels of precision and careful, confident handling and I really enjoy that part. The company recently invested in new machinery so we have a new glass cutting table as well as a new spacer bar computer saw. In a way I miss the old way of doing things but the new machinery speeds up the process a lot and it’s much safer.”
“What I enjoy most is working with the lads, we have a good laugh and everyone is happy to chip in and help others. The job is really quite demanding and physical so having a good team around you makes a big difference. Bacon butties every month definitely also help the morale!”
We asked Kieran what advice he would give to anyone who is interested in a career in the glazing industry. Here’s what he told us: “Glass and glazing is a great industry to be in. I think it’s important that you choose a company where you have an opportunity to progress. Here at Allenby Glass I get to work on different projects and learn new skills all the time. I really enjoy that.”
Our Allenby Glass factory manager David Harris said: “Kieran is a good worker, eager to learn. He has fitted into our working family well and deserves this recognition.”

In his spare time Kieran enjoys good food, working out and spending time with his family.
